Allergies affect people in different ways, but one of the most common symptoms are runny nose or stuffy. If the allergy is not treated, it can lead to inflammation of the sinus, and finally, the infection can set in. Allergies and sinus problems go hand in hand, but they can be overcome with medication and natural remedies. The adoption of suitable measures as allergies and sinus problems can be overcome to prevent complications.


How to Overcome Allergy and Sinus Trouble


Avoid any known allergens. Keep windows and doors closed in your home and car to keep outside allergens away from your home, where air is filtered and recirculated.


Wash your bedding at least once week in hot, soapy water to kill any dust mites that thrive off dust and pollen.


Stay away from mucus-producing foods and beverages. Avoid dairy products because they cause body to produce mucus. Don't eat highly processed sugars such as high-fructose corn syrup as they can irritate sinus cavity. Avoid wheat products because they encourage mucus production.


Take daily antihistamine. Use drug such as loratadine on daily basis. It comes in either 12- or 24-hour tablet that makes it easy not to miss dose. Take drug consistently for best results.


Take decongestant. Use it to reduce swelling in sinuses and open nasal passages to allow mucus to be expelled and relieve sinus pressure.
